The Core/Slice Renovation is a unique service offered only by MRW Lawns, Inc. It combines the benefits of Power Core Aeration and Slice Seeding. It is a method of seedbed preparation which uses both a core aerator to aerate the lawn, then a slice seeder or verti-cutting machine to cut the seed into grooves in the soil. First, the lawn is aerated. Then, the seed is applied with a broadcast spreader. Care is taken to ensure the seed is placed only on the turf area and not adjacent shrub beds. MRW uses only high quality certified seed. Last, the Slice Seeder, with its fixed blades, works the seed into the top ½ inch of soil. No tilling is required. No mess or mud.

Core/Slice renovation will thicken up a thin lawn or start a new lawn from scratch as long as the seedbed has no structural faults. Round-up can be applied prior to renovation to kill all existing vegetation. Organic Topdressing in conjunction with this service is recommended to add organic matter to and correct poor soil structure.
